Hoima journalist finally passes on after thug attack

Eddy Kizito Kyambade, a journalist who worked with Radio Hoima has finally passed on after battling a brain injury he sustained when he was suspiciously attacked and hit by unknown assailants.
Kyambade who was both a news anchor as well as an entertainment radio presenter met his fate after retiring from his late night show – Kipindi cha lala salama on November 13, 2022, in Hoima city.
The journalist died today Thursday, January 19, 2023, at Mulago National Referral Hospital where he had been admitted for almost three months.
Mr Peter Bitendero, a brother to the deceased told Kazi-njema News that, Kyambadde breathed his last at around 4am.
News about his condition emerged the following day on November 14, 2022, when he was admitted to Hoima Regional Referral Hospital in a coma with bruises on his body and an inflamed forehead seemingly a result of being hit with a blunt object, according to medical reports.
Until his death, it remained unclear where Kyambadde was attacked from given that since the attack, he remained unconscious and nobody knew who took him to hospital.
A Computer Tomography (CT) scan showed that Kyambadde had a brain injury and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit where he had stayed till his death today.
While at Mulago hospital, Kyambadde underwent three brain surgeries, according to Mr Bitendero, including the surgical removal of the bone from the skull to expose the brain (craniotomy) and his bone flap was kept in his belly.
Unfortunately, he did not survive.
No arrest has so far been made for the thugs that attacked the fallen journalist.
Kyambadde will be buried at his home village Ntunda in Kyankwanzi district.
